I've setup the Treknologies Adventure Travel Wiki to serve as a clearinghouse for information pertaining to adventure travel. I've been inspired by sites like Horizons Unlimited, which solicits information from visitors on topics such as border crossings, road conditions, and country information. Unlike them, however, we'd like to give the power to anyone who cares enough to edit, organize, or add new information to the site.

That's where the wiki comes in: any viewer can edit any page. It's pretty barren at the moment but I hope that soon it will become a valuable resource for adventure travellers worldwide.

Getting settled (and getting a little free time to update the site) proved much harder than I thought--we are, however, finally back online! Check back in the next few days for updates as Jesse and I steal company time to write more entries.

Hey everybody, I'll be moving to LA this next week. After that brief hiatus I have some new and exciting things planned for the site so definitely keep an eye out!

Treknologies is a blog about technologies and techniques that make travelling easier. The idea is comparable to that of Gizmodo, which features new technology indiscriminately, and Kevin Kelly's Cool Tools, which features tools that Mr. Kelly thinks are useful.

Our focus is on technologies like GPS, portable computers, cameras and techniques for using them in a photojournalistic capacity, travel writing, and the like. Stay tuned for product reviews, lists of essential resources, travel news, and highlights from the world of travel.
